Stormy Weather Abstracts

Hello,

On Sunday I spent a few hours at UNL city campus-one of my favorite locations. Between the lightning and downpours I managed to keep my cameras dry and capture a few good shots. Overall, kinda of a dark theme with strong contrasting lines and vertical perspectives.

May Abstracts

Hello Everybody,

It's been awhile since my last post mostly due to school and family obligations. However, last Sunday I finally made some time to shoot for a few hours in the West Hay-Market area. Wow, this part of the Hay-Market is almost unrecognizable with new development and looks great!

Below is a new parking garage entitled "stringed instrument". Unusual steel wire mounted vertically on the South side of the structure not sure if this is for aesthetics, safety, or a deterrent for pigeons? Either way I like the unusual look and the combination of vertical and horizontal lines.

The image in color is the same parking garage called "frame work'. Facing the North this garage has eye catching steel lattice that make it stand out. Decided to not convert it to b/w primarily due to the vibrant blue being a positive for the image. If color is not a contributing component to the success of an image then in my opinion it distracts and needs to be toned down or converted into b/w.

Finally, my last image is entitled "minimalism design" captures newly constructed apartments/condo's in the Hay-Market area. Like the clean lines, mixed use of materials, patterns, and shadow play.

Appreciate you stopping by and taking a look! As promised a video of the Governors Residence exhibit coming soon! Wanting more-please visit me at  http://500px.com/RQuick

Governor's Residence

Hello,
Busy afternoon-just installed 10 framed images at the Nebraska Governor's residence. About a year ago I was lucky enough to be one of twelve artists chosen to display works in the lower level conference room May 7th through June 6th. This exhibition was provided by the Nebraska Arts Council in conjunction with the Governor's residence.

Choosing images is always difficult for a variety of reasons. One being that I was chosen a year ago and since then I've added a variety of new works. Secondly, not all images are appropriate for framing into the 11x14 format. Unfortunately, I did leave a few images on the cutting room floor but overall a well balanced exhibit with 5 black/whites coupled with 5 color.

Another post coming soon about this exhibit with video and a link!
